Green Law Watch
Both the new Federal Administration and the Democratic Congressional leadership are ‘Deep Green.’ The issue of rapid climate is no longer being shunted aside, either nationally or locally, and legislative mandates, from every level of government, are forthcoming.
The economic downturn may slow or blunt some of these ‘greenhouse gas’ initiatives, but it seems likely that much legislative change is on its way, and wise business owners need to stay ahead of the knowledge curve. Like it or not, your business, your supply chain, your products, your costs and your customer's buying patterns will all be affected over the coming months and years by ‘Green Laws.’
The effects of the coming ‘Climate Change’ mandates will range from the direct and straightforward, to ricochets and ripple effects that will catch the uninformed and the unwary by surprise and leave them badly positioned.
If there is one rule of the market place that will come into play in regards to environmental statutes, it is that ‘when it is a voluntary market the cost is low, when it becomes a mandated market the cost skyrockets.’
In order to help keep our valued clients abreast of this coming sea change, Sustainacorp will keep you and your business current with monthly summaries of legislative and regulatory trends, along with the news of how these trends affect the cost of energy, now and going into the future.
